If anyone is interested in a chair for next year please contact the WM or myself. This is a great opportunity for young and old Masons to step up and take a leadership role in the lodge. If you know of some Brothers that would like a chair and not on the distribution list - please let the WM know.

27-July-2014:

IT IS TIME ONCE AGAIN FOR THE MITCHELL LODGE #228, ANNUAL YARD SALE!!!! IT IS BEING HELD ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 20TH STARTING AT 8:00 AM.

Brothers, PLEASE check those garages, outbuildings and yards for items you haven't used and/or will never use again. We can sell just about anything so if you think to yourself, "no one would buy this junk" bring it.  Remember my saying "one man's junk is another man's treasure". The only items that are difficult/impossible to sell are clothes. However, good suites are acceptable.

Bring all items to the Lodge and put them in the downstairs gathering hall. If you need any help, or if you have so many items to bring that you need a little extra help, please call Matthew Livingston.  I will come myself or have a brother with a truck come to help you in any way so we can have plenty of items to sell.

This will be a great yard sale! It will be held during the community yard sale event of Mitchell. We have the chance to make great money this year to get us closer of our goal of replacing a 20 plus year roof.  Last year in one day the brothers made over $1200. I want each and every year to be better than the last. So let's get to looking around and get those items in.

2-Oct-2012:

Brethren,

I would like to thank all who participated in the pancake breakfast Saturday 27-Sept-2012 or supported in other ways. The public turnout was outstanding as over 200 people came to share breakfast and fellowship. PM Larry's team served some outstanding food, but moreso there was plenty of laughter in the kitchen.

We received many compliments related to the quality of food and how good it was this year. This is a credit to every Mason in this lodge - again, thank you.

WM

Spring 2011: Photos of new sod and light repair.

To All: The first piece of sod is usually laid in the North East corner of the lawn to receive those first instructions on how to lay the rest of the yard. It is usually laid by the three wise men but not in this case, the picture speaks for its self. Thanks to all who have donated time, material, labor, and moral support for this huge undertaking. Without the donation of equipment and fuel from Bro. Casey Allen this project would not have gotten "off the ground." We now have to water the new sod as seen in the last picture and hope the new lawn grows, much like the Lodge its self. We still need some mulch for the flower areas and anyone who wants to "get" a bag and leave it on the front porch it would be greatly appreciated. When there is enough to do the job, probably about 10 bags of red, black or rubber mulch we will spread it to finalize the front area. Yes Brethren, we had a brother's wife show up to help us. She jumped right in and worked as hard as we did. Everyone was proud of the job after it was accomplished. The only real problem I had was from the three wise men as I had to keep reminding them "green side up and one layer thick." Thanks again everyone. Bro. PM John Voorhies
